Thailand, Farmer Rangers, Textile Upcycling & Hand Stitching
Farmer Rangers is a brand that focuses on upcycling waste and scrap textile materials. In the textile industry, there are many processes that damage the environment severely; Farmer Rangers saw the creation of sustainable textiles as the logical solution to this endemic problem. The founders of Farmer Rangers, Jamorn and Kung, hope that people will come to share their vision that old clothes or waste materials that have been discarded can be remade into something new, beautiful, and useful.
Farmer Ranger textiles have unique texture and design. Their hand embroidered stitching technique gives the impression that the fabric was used until it disintegrated; a technique inspired by Boro, an ancient Japanese textile repair technique. Farmer Rangers works with artisans in villages throughout Thailand, from Tambon Sop Poeng to Mae Taeng District and Chiang Mai Province.
