Anda Ene - The Romanian Blouse
Anda Ene is a designer and a curator of Romanian artisans, making traditional blouses, jewellery, traditional furrier, and leather dressers. Everything is handmade. At the beginning, Anda started to collect vintage pieces, as she was passionate about handmade Romanian blouses and other traditional garments. Some of the clothes badly needed restoration, so she looked for skilled seamstresses and artisans to restore these masterpieces. It was an immense pleasure to save and reclaim another life for these precious pieces, so she continues in this direction.
The brand sits under the “Romanian Heritage Textile” and a collection that is always renewed, as they sell and reinvest in other vintage handcrafted treasures that need restoration or repurposed, as an original new piece. In 14 years, Anda has managed to save, reclaim, and sell more than 450 unique pieces.
Their love for the traditional Romanian Blouses inspired them to recreate the blouses they saved. So in 2015, they launched a collection called "Romanian Blouse Revival" in collaboration with the women artisans, from different ethnographic areas of their country. They continue a long and rich tradition of textile making and embroidery craftsmanship. Their blouses are only made by hand as it is the tradition, but we also come with new models, reformulating their shape and redrawing their embroideries, to come with something new in every collection.
