Until 12 April 2026: The Living Temple: The World of Moki Cherry,
The Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia, USA
For Swedish artist Moki Cherry, art was inseparable from life and family. Often working in collaboration with her husband, avant-garde jazz icon Don Cherry, she created textiles, paintings, and costumes into kaleidoscopic worlds where motherhood, music, and spirituality collided. “Home is stage, stage is home,” Cherry once said, and her work reflected that mantra. In D.C. (Portrait of Don), appliquéd silks and cottons pulse with psychedelic flair, depicting a red-faced figure with tongue dangling, ears oozing with vibrant colours. Cherry’s art was a holistic way of being, fusing care, creativity, and play.
