Ruby Hodgson is the Curator of the Goldsmiths Textile Collection and the Curatorial Operations Coordinator at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Her research centres on eighteenth and early nineteenth century British fashion history, with focus on early industrialization, the historic reuse of textiles, and the constructions of class and gender through fashion. Her chapter, “Robe à la Grand-Mère: The Reuse of Eighteenth-Century Silks in Romantic-Era Fashion,” appears in Reading the Thread: Cloth and Communication (Bloomsbury Academic). She was a contributor to Silk: Fiber, Fabric, and Fashion (Thames & Hudson).
