UK, West Yorkshire, Haworth, Wave of Nostalgia
This beautiful little shop is located in a listed building on the famous cobbled hill in the village of Haworth, close to the Parsonage Museum where the Brontes wrote their masterpieces. Founded by Diane Park in 2013, who individually selects every book, it’s key themes are strong women fiction/non-fiction, inclusivity, creativity and conservation. Diane prides herself on making sure the latest books are always available bringing in 30-50 new titles every week. The shop is unusual in many ways, but unique in that it also stocks a range of children’s clothing that owner Diane makes by hand.
It's customers come from far and wide and their support has helped the shop earn the accolades ‘Best Independent Bookshop in the North of England’ (Bookseller Magazine) and ‘One of the UK’s Top 12 Favourite Bookshops’ (The Times). It also organises popular and frequent author and community events – keep an eye on it’s website for what’s happening.
The shop is surrounded on Haworth’s Main Street by over 60 fabulous independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars plus the famous Bronte Parsonage Museum and the Keighley & Worth Valley Steam Railway. Fantastic for a day out!
