In the hushed Gabrielle Chanel galleries in the basement of the Palais Galliera, a different fashion narrative is being quietly assembled - one that begins not with the silhouette or with a name, but with the stitch at a moment when fashion exhibitions often privilege the couturier as auteur. Weaving, Embroidering, Embellishing. The Crafts and Trades of Fashion deliberately shifts its focus towards the material intelligence and the processes of dressmaking: the thread, the surface, and the many invisible hands that transform fabric into meaning.
