Enter the Selvedge Writing Competition 2024
Perhaps you don't agree that a picture speaks a thousand words? Do you prefer to express yourself in a literary fashion? Why not enter our competition to find talented textile journalists? We're looking for a lively style and a dash of humour but also require a thorough knowledge of textiles, meticulous attention to detail, and accurate grammar - in short, you should demonstrate both style and structure.
This year, we would like either a profile of a living artist or designer and convey in 500 words the driving force behind their work and how it fits into a wider context or 500 words that document a textile trend - a short and sweet survey of a new idea. Articles must be submitted as unformatted Word documents.
About the prize
The winning entry in each category will be published in the November/December 2024 issue.
