JOSEP FONT: BEAUTY AND RESTLESSNESS
Josep Font has been unanimously recognised as one of the most personal and appreciated Spanish creators from the 20th to the 21st century. With an outstanding projection on an international scale, his work is characterised by the constant search for beauty.
For Font, beauty, in all its splendour, produces restlessness and even uneasiness, but it is perhaps for this reason that it also generates the energy to continue reaching for it without stopping. The architectural construction, the play of volumes and the ornamentation of the fabrics are hallmarks of her work.
The exhibition brings together some of his most relevant creations for prêt-à-porter and haute couture throughout more than two decades of production. And within the framework of the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum, it also aims to influence the multiple connections that can be established between the Catalan designer and the Master of Getaria.
