The Selvedge 12 Days of Christmas 2020 competitions are open! From 1 – 12 December you can enter to win each and every one of our 12 prizes by visiting our competition page. Every day while entries are open we will look at each prize in more detail. Today it’s the Beatrix lambswool pinstripe throw from Wallace Sewell. Wallace Sewell is a UK-based studio founded by Harriet Wallace-Jones and Emma Sewell over 25 years ago, that designs woven accessories for the fashion and home industries. Marrying art and design with a passion for the craft of weaving, each product is a joy for the senses.
Wallace Sewell manufactures their signature collections in Britain, with a thoughtful and meticulous approach to production and with an aim to be as sustainable as possible. New ideas are created on handlooms at their studios in London and Dorset, which are then woven industrially at a UK textile mill. Weaving with natural yarns and fibres, the whole process of warping, weaving, finishing and processing, all takes place within a 200 mile radius of the mill. As well as the distinctive accessories, the studio also works on custom projects for the hospitality, realtor and transportation markets - you will probably already be familiar with their upholstery designs for London Underground even if you don't recognise the name!
We have one small Beatrix lambswool throw to give away, worth £315. It is made from 100% merino lambswool, from Australia and South Africa. Dyed and spun in Yorkshire and woven in Lancashire, UK. 115 x 195 cm. Wallace Sewell products are designed for longevity both in terms of quality and classic designs: heirlooms in the making because loved items last longer.
