86 Baskets
86 Baskets tells the story of seven basketmakers and their tutor, Lorna Singleton, as they immerse themselves in the ancient woodlands of the Lake District and the historic craft of spelk basketry.
Wood Water Weave is a unique 12-month course in which participants attune themselves to the forest’s seasonal rhythms, honing their traditional basketmaking skills. They learn the craft of transforming locally coppiced trees into breathtakingly beautiful baskets, cutting and preparing the wood by hand and preserving the heritage skills passed down through generations of basket-makers and woodland workers.
