A display for 60 rugs from Claremont Rug Company
The widely anticipated annual online gallery event by Claremont Rug Company runs until 31 March 2024, exhibiting the 60 Best-of-Their-Type Rugs Sold in 2023. Celebrating the breadth of museum-level and highly-collectible antique rugs that collectors acquired from Claremont Rug Company in Oakland, CA, USA, in 2023. Over 75 percent of the pieces in this digital exhibition date from the first half of the 19th century. These include a Senneh 'Columns' rug, four Mohtashem-style Kashans, a triple-layered medallion Ferahan Sarouk; a cloudband Kazak, a Derbend, and a Surahani Baku–all of unique design; an astonishing small Bakshaish, a Ladik and Melas, both circa 1825, and more.

Representing room-sized floral carpets are a Laver Kirman, circa 1800; a singular Tabriz, circa 1825; and a Garden of Paradise Dorasht with staggeringly diverse fauna and flora. Two camel hair Bakshaish–one with a rare split-palmette design and the other a repeating lion pattern–and a 175-year-old Serapi are among the examples of room-sized village carpets sold last year.
