A Threadbear Production

Grace Lane has been creating her quirky creatures, patched together with all sorts of treasures, since she was a teenager. Each bear, fairy or rabbit is made from a calico base and embellished with a selection of vintage fabrics, buttons and old threads.  Each animal is carefully crafted with love, and as a metaphor for wearing your heart on your sleeve Grace stitches one arm on each creature with a heart shaped button. All of her creations, in their antique outfits, have a nostalgic feel and have been made to resemble a worn and loved bear or doll that's been in the family for years. Grace's favourite book is the borrowers, and the influence of this story is evident; the animals look as though they would come to life whilst you weren't watching, or as though they're off on an adventure, with their matchstick rucksacks and string for bundles of rope.
