An Afternoon Tea In Bath
With only a month to go until the Selvedge Spring Fair in Bath, we thought we would tempt our readers with a sneak peek at the menu of the Assembly Rooms Café...
The Assembly Rooms Café in Bath is an idyllic location to enjoy a peaceful morning coffee or a light lunch amongst historic surroundings. The adjoining garden becomes a lovely little sun trap during the warmer months - hopefully, we will be blessed with good weather on the Fair weekend! The café itself is informal, offering a self-service style menu packed with tempting treats, from handmade cakes and giant cookies to freshly made sandwiches and cheesy pitta bread available at lunchtime.
The majority of the Café food is prepared fresh on the premises and they work with local suppliers wherever possible. All the tea and coffee is not only hot and refreshing but also from Fairtrade or ethically traded organic sources. Why not have a coffee with a slice of homemade cake for just £5? There is a fantastic selection of cake, including a traditional Victoria sponge, chocolate brownie, and frosted carrot cake. Or, if you'd prefer something stronger, the Café serves a range of award-winning local ales, excellent ciders and even serve organic lager.
