Clare Bungey's Spring Fair Favourites
Spring is one of my favourite times of the year, as the blossom comes out it’s also time to get ready for our annual Spring Fair in London. I work with lots of our exhibitors when I help them with their promotion and advertising in the magazine but the chance to meet them face to face and see their beautiful products doesn’t fail to excite.
I hope you’ll join us this weekend at Chelsea Old Town Hall, we have almost 90 exhibitors who will be displaying their textiles and I’m sure you’ll find a wonderful spread of treats and ideal gifts. I’ve picked a few of my favourite exhibitors…
Nisreen Moustafa runs Nuun Interiors, a London based interior design company, works closely with a community of cotton weavers in Nagada, Egypt. The community is located on the banks of the Nile, where weaving has been a tradition for over 1,000 years and the technology remains the same. At the fair Nisreen will be exhibiting colourful cushions, placemats, fabrics and table runners woven in Nagada. Nuun Interiors, Stall D5

I was pleased to see first-time exhibitor Oubas Knitwear (Named after the ‘Oubas Hill’ in Ulverston, just outside the Lake District) on our list this Spring. Founder of the company, Kate uses British spun yarns and makes her range of clothing, throws and cushions by hand. Her restrained colour palette and geometric patterns are a great combination and her Geo Knit Throw in cumin and almond would look just lovely on my Ercol sofa. Oubas Knitwear Stall C2

I love nothing more than a good night’s sleep and I think Eight Hour Studio’s luxurious organic cotton sleep wear would helpfully aid that. Sonia Padam left her job as an accountant to start Eight Hour Studio after she fell in love with traditional hand block carving and printing on a family holiday to India. Using pastel shades and pretty block prints she offers a range of tank tops, camisoles, and night shirts… Perfect for a summer weekend lounging at home! Eight Hour Studio Stall B30
