The latest collection from Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, Siyada, created in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will be launched at Salone del Mobile 2022 in Milan, Italy.
The Siyada Collection brings together Emirati and Pakistani cultural heritage and is a contemporary reinterpretation of handloom-weaved silk and wool carpets. Inspired by the motifs found in the UAE’s mountainous topography and the Safeefah handicraft, the carpets feature unique patterns created using traditional Pakistani weaving techniques using either wool or silk handlooms.
