WARDROBE REVOLUTION WEEKEND
We are at a critical point in human history. The need to adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly practises has never been so important - especially regarding our fashion and textile choices. This is no easy task and will require a community effort that is both local and global - intimately interconnected.
Our upcoming Wardrobe Revolution Weekend on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October 2022 will bring together pioneers of slow design and textile activists who are working to reinvent the way we think about and produce clothing.
Image: Studio Brieditis & Evans will be speaking at the online talk, as part of the Weekend Wardrobe Revolution about how they work with textile art, design and craft using industry excess and discarded clothes.
On Saturday 8 October we will host an online talk exploring methods of repairing, mending and recycling our clothing; innovative industry-led initiatives to produce carbon-neutral clothing on an industrial scale; and Indigenous knowledge systems and practices of textile making. You can read about the list of speakers and the topics they will cover by CLICKING HERE.
On Sunday 9 October, there are a series of workshops to renew and upcycle your clothes through techniques such as visible mending, braiding and re-making.

Denim Jackets on Sunday 9 October at 19:00 - 21:00 BST (British Summer Time). Book your place on our website: selvedge.org
We hope to inspire you to find ways of reducing your own clothing carbon footprint, as well as contributing to finding new ways of rethinking the global fashion system.
