Selvedge

An extension of the print magazine’s tone of respect, intelligence and joy in the world of textiles, our blog is a daily contribution to the Selvedge conversation. Featuring exhibitions, people, adventures and opinion, the Selvedge blog is not only a meeting point for the Selvedge community but also an entry point into the world of textiles for those looking for an original and broadening perspective.

With printers Thornback & Peel, our drop-in workshop will provide all the materials to create your own pigeon to add to our flock. 18-19 September, 10am-5.30pm, V&A Museum, South Kensington, London, SW7 2RL www.vam.ac.uk www.londondesignfestival.com

Selvedge at the Big Chill

Exhibitions Selvedge shows and workshops

We had a great time at the Big Chill Festival, with the help of Abigail Brown and many crafty festival goers we created a flock of over 500 beautiful birds. We would like to thank Coats Crafts, Cath Kidston, Sanderson, Bennison, Fiskars and the British Wool Marketing Board for their generous sponsorship. You can see more photographs on our Facebook page by clicking this link. The birds will also be on display at the Selvedge Shop for the next month... Enjoy!

Hoping to continue the success of last year's project, Sheena has selected fellow fashionistas to take part in The Uniform Project's second assignment: 'One Dress, One Month, One Cause'. We can't wait for the daily fashion show starting August 1st!
