Selvedge World Fair took place 3rd - 5th September 2020. The three-day virtual event, a celebration of cloth, culture and creativity, presented the work of master artisans, bringing together varied - and in some cases endangered - textile traditions from around the world. Visitors were able to buy handmade treasures, take part in online workshops and watch and participate in talks on textile-related themes.

Presentations and discussion with Asif Shaikh Foundation, Kissweh, and Dinara Chochunbaeva of Central Asia Crafts Support Association's Resource Center.
Cross Cultural Collaborations will be led by presentations from Tamay & Me, Studio Bagru and Ock Pop Tok who will give us insights into their experiences setting up textile businesses using expertise across cultures.
Presentations and discussion with Amy Revier ,Ana de Prado, designer at Manos del Uruguay, and Chinar Farooqui, founder of Injiri will give us an insight into the their processes of designing and making textiles and how they use traditional textile practices to create contemporary pieces that pivot on the edge between art and textiles.
Presentations and discussion with Porfirio Gutierrez , Rita Nazareno and Meghann O'Brien discuss the importance of cultural identity and appropriation in the making and creating of textiles. All three speakers will present, followed by a discussion and questions.
Karin Carlander , Natalie Chanin, founder of Alabama Chanin Suzhou Cobblers . Fantastic Fibre will be led by presentations by Karin on linen, Natalie on cotton and Denise on silk.
