Inspired by an eighteenth-century Kani shoulder mantle, this exquisite cashmere shawl pairs delicate pink rose butis with a rich indigo ground in a beautifully balanced, symmetrical composition. Woven entirely by hand, the design is created using the historic Kani technique, in which small wooden bobbins, known as kanis, carry coloured yarns to weave intricate motifs directly into the fabric rather than embroidering them onto the surface.
