KATERINA KNIGHT
Katerina Knight is a textile artist, writer, and educator who has transitioned from a career in the luxury fashion industry to embrace a slow artistic practice. She graduated with a Masters in Textiles from the Royal College of Art London as a Burberry scholar and was shortlisted for the Dorothy Waxman Prize 2023.
Now residing in the picturesque countryside of Malvern, Worcestershire, Katerina enjoys long walks in nature, where she forages for wild plants and cultivates her own in the community garden of her local Buddhist temple.
Through her art, she seeks to explore themes of personal and ecological healing by connecting with the natural world.
Alongside her artistic practice, Katerina is a lecturer on the BA Textile programme at Hereford College of Art and works on the editorial team for Selvedge Magazine.

Description:
In this workshop, Katerina will teach participants a series of hand embroidery techniques using dried plant materials as textile embellishments. Learn how to hand stitch unusual and alternative natural materials such as lavender seeds, cornflowers, dahlia petals, and rosemary into cloth.
Whether you are interested in textiles, gardening, meditation, or would just like to learn something new, this workshop promises a soothing and sensorial experience.
All materials will be provided by Katerina, including a varied selection of dried plants that have been homegrown or sustainably foraged from her local surroundings in the Malvern hills.
No experience is necessary, and you are encouraged to take each stitch slowly, learning at a pace that is comfortable for you.
