The Blouse was woven on a back strap loom in three panels, made in the same traditional technique from the town, Solola. It was woven by Rosario Cholotio in the town of San Juan La Laguna. The piece was woven in backyard of the weaver's house. It was woven in then same traditional technique as a Ceremonial Huipil from Solola. It is woven with the traditional back strap loom with new color combinations. The piece is woven in three panels as the traditional one. The neckline decoration is hand embroidered. It is special, because ladies use them less and less each year. The blouse is a copy of the Ceremonial Huipil from Solola, woven on a back strap loom. The loom is the same loom used by the Mayas in Pre-Columbian times. The weavers adapted the traditional patterns to make new garments. The back ground is woven in cotton. The designs are woven with rayon. Fibre It is produced locally, Guatemala.
